Description

This is for my friend Deb or best known as (Suncat1). She is a really super artist who does great work in Daz Studio. I love her science fiction images and her creative ideas she has for them. Most important is she is a truly wonderful lady who has been a friend to me for a very long time. Deb is great at telling stories and has a perfect memory for even the smallest details from long ago.The way she described her family to me made me feel like I really knew them. She shared this story with me a while back about what happened to her family one Christmas so I waited to share it with all of you now. As I've learned from my nieces sometimes all it takes is one of your kids showing you how much they love you to make everything alright. My best wishes for the holidays to my dear friends all over the globe. I hope you enjoy Deb's story and may God bless and watch over you all. Dave The Christmas Star: Once upon a time Deb's parents wanted a Christmas tree. Her Dad found one by a storage building and took it home. Her Mom said it was too tall, didn't have enough branches and left sap all over. Deb and her sisters Robin and Bonnie decorated the tree to make it beautiful. Their Mom put a lovely glass tree spire on top to complete their work. During the night they heard a crash and ran downstairs. Their cat Mitzy had tried to climb the tree and knocked it over breaking her Mom's cherished tree spire. Deb knew her Mom was sad and decided to do something special for her. Deb got a stapler, scissors, paper plates, foil and tassels. Deb worked so hard to create a magical star for their tree. Later Robin brought their parents into the livingroom. Their stood Deb holding her small foil star with little tassels she had made. Bonnie was holding Mitzy so she didn't spoil the moment. Her Mom was so touched she put the star on top of the tree and it stayed there all Christmas. He is doing much better and wearing the back brace now. They have managed to stand him and with help and trying to help him to walk. Keep him in your thoughts, prayers and meditations as he is a bit depressed that he won't be able to be home with his family for Christmas.

(ok, another long Mark comment! cancel your appointments...) First, the details are very sensitive...the girl's dresses are done in beautiful colors, the greens and blues quite subtle and even luminous. (Sensitive slate-blues & greens, to die for...) You also captured a 'dance' between everyone, a circle of holding from Mom to Deb even though they're not all actually 'holding': It's an energy between them (a love). And even the girls' shoes have beautiful detail, they harmonize with their dresses, & those green flowers on Bonnie's sandals are beautiful adornments as are the bows on Deb's. The picture also flares gently to each side, you slightly bent the lines away from center which is a small thing but it shows your sense of energy at work: I mean Deb's father & the tree even sway backwards as if the energy were washing over everyone. And that's the spirit of the piece, an enveloping energy flowing throughout: These are what Christmas was about, long ago: light in darkness, life in darkness, Dec. 25 being chosen because it was a time of light in a very dark season (where many didn't make it because of the cold...imagine the significance of lights to them). The whole family looks up at the mother with love & hope, and the big open wall allows everything to unfold the way love unfolds on the open space of life. You've captured it all lovingly, Dave (well when don't you?), a beautiful holiday vision & another sensitive visualization of a dear friend's moment-of-life. All great light to you & yours too, my loving friend, and an radiant new year too.

Dave, I am so pleased to see this post the week before Christmas. I know how tough things have been for many of us here and you and your family are not excluded from this. To produce such a beautifully crafted image and to write that story in your inimitable style with everything that is going on just now really cheered me up. It is heart warming and so well put together and I am glad that Steve too is making his first setps to recovery. A great dedication for a super lady and artist too.

Sweet scene and story :) It reminded me of the last Christmas with my ex-boyfriend and his daughter. He is Jewish and it took his daughter to have him finally accept to put up a tree and she even created an angel to put at the top of the tree :)

Nice image, the expressions - whether anxious, excited or loving - being particularly good. Most people who own a cat and a Christmas tree have experienced the disasterous moment when one comes into collision with the other. Have a merry Christmas, Dave
