Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It is often having taken a shot that the little "extra's" are seen when downloaded. Excellent work.

Superb image Marilyn. Nice composition. It often happens to me too, just when I aim the camera, with no expectation, here come the fantastic shot. This is one of them!

I've heard of stunt skiing but this is a notch above anything I've ever seen! LOL

That's what those New Age Skateboarders do. They slid down the handrails and walls and then fall off, LOL!!! Maybe he is trying that here!!! Cool how it came out!!!

fun to get surprise visitors in a shot, isn't it! Photographers tell me it's one of the fun parts of what they do. (If that guy's skiing on the lift, not only is he skilled but that's one big lift!) The shot reminds me of when I skied as a child, and how terrified I was of lifts: The angle of your shot gets the whole "floating in space" feeling: You're sitting on this metal contraption, and the whole universe looms below you. (Not only that, you look at the mountain & think, "I'm gonna ski on that thing???") Don't know where you were when you shot this, but you got a neat angle. (See, we don't have mountains in chicago—we have 'bumps'. Don't laugh: I stood on one 10 years ago & got a nosebleed...) Lot of fun to see this & glad you posted it for us.
