Description

Satsumas in a crystal bowl, sitting in my living room window. Urrr ... ummm ... I mean ... shot in my state-of-the-art backlighting studio! :) I love these things. Bought another bag of 'em this afternoon. It's the best thing about winter! Of course this is more about the bowl and the light than the oranges. It's just that satsumas are so danged tasty! :)

Satsumas? Never heard of 'em. In fact, I'm just now acquainting myself with mandarin oranges, green cauliflower and pink grapefruit! Just the good ole boy in me. Stellar lighting bring out the wonderful textures of the glass and Satsuma rind in this excellent composition.

like a painter & photographer, you caught the communion between two very different things. It's beautiful. This is the kind of melding people strive for in Photoshop, but you've caught it with your eye & camera. I think, sometimes, a true photographer sees 2 completely opposite objects and knows they were put on earth to be in a photograph together, and finds that he/she was put here to finish the job...Beautiful.
