My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Great image! My mom has one or two (tongue in cheek) Pyrex bowls as well. I never thought of them in this light!

I remember those, but ours weren't such pretty colors. A great shot!

I thought they're crystal clear, but filled with jell-o! Excellent shot, good composition!

Like early modern art. Nostalgic and abstract at the same time. Wonderful!

We never had those, you must have grown up in the ritzy neighborhood! Great work in your wonderful studio; the light is perfect!

Well you did a fantastic job too to turn these containers into something realy interesting. Good work with a shapes and colors. Like your "icy" background.

What a treat. The shapes, the colors are all familiar and I think I first came across these utilitarian beauties in my grandmothers' kitchens in the 1950s. You've got the touch when it comes to light and glass! These were tough to photograph weren't they? Here's a neat link...where Pyrex came from: Pyrex Link When you reach the Pyrex page click on "About", then "History". Bill P.S. Hope this isn't too complicated :-)

An exciting pic, in more ways than one! Not only a bold and bright composition, but those colours are quite new to me!

the old modernists of the 50s & 60s would call this "symphony in red, green & amber" (something like that!) and that's what it is, at least in part. But it's also luminous because of the light coming through the pyrex, and because of the reflections too. And I love the background (either a window looking out on trees, or maybe it's some kind of wallpaper, I can't tell), how it whispers & shines in the background. A nostalgic shot but also very modern; and quite simple & eloquent too.
