Description
This is the first of three shots taken on Christmas day.
This first one was taken fairly early on Christmas morning as I walked to my sisters house. It is the garage in Caversham which, normally, is bustling with activity at all hours.
I like my Christmas morning walk as it is rather like walking around a ghost-town at that time. As, too, is the later evening.
Thanks for dropping by. :-)

I haven't seen Esso in YEARS!! where was this taken ? I'm trying to figure out the fuel price
Staticon
The picture was taken in Caversham which started life as a small Oxfordshire village on the North bank of the Thames. As the town of Reading grew, it gradually expanded to engulf this community which makes it one of the Northern-most suburbs of Reading. And the fuel prices are: Unleaded 86.9 p/l Deisel 98.9 p/l Hope that answers your questions. :-)

Its nice to see an empty station, though I am sure some are open even on Christmas Day, your petrol prices are just as cheap as here, I always thought England was more expensive. Have a peaceful, happy and healthy 2009

I can remember that service station before the present building was there I lived just around the corner. Great to see esso pulling in the customers still.

I filled up here once back in the 80's on a fishing trip, man the prices were a bit different then, hope you enjoyed the walk and the visit to your sisters, and had a pleasent time, great illustration here of the desertion of the norm at the different times of the year... The Esso sign means happy motering The Esso sign means happy motering The Esso sign means happy motering Call at the Esso sign :)

here in Dallas the roads are almost never deserted with stores being open 365 days a year. I often wish for a more simple life away from where the population of a Dallas/FtWorth is more than the whole state of Oklahoma excellent capture
