Description
This Brown Creeper is another winter residence in my backyard. I saw them for the first time last year but was unable to get a good shot of them as they are very quick, seldom stop and camouflage well with the tree; they can be hard to spot. I saw this guy as he landed at the foot of the tree outside my kitchen window this morning, grabbed my camera and outside I went. I took several shots of him as he worked he’s way up the trunk looking for food in the bark. I thought this would be a nice way to start the New Year, with a new bird taken this morning for my first post of 2009.
I hope all has seen the New Year in safely; I thank everyone for their support, advice, kind words and friendship through 2008.
Thank you for your views and comments. Have a great week end!

Excellent photo of the little Creeper...that just sounds a little humorous to me...pardon me, I'm OK again :-) I agree, this makes a fine entry in your gallery to kick off Jannuary 2009. Well done. Bill

nice shot, and well-caught in the light. Portugal has the Short-toed Treecreeper, which I have seen but could not honestly tell apart from the Treecreeper found in the rest of Europe. shoe-size, maybe ?

Excellent capture of this amazing little bird.

How lovely! I've never seen one of these in Texas. The appearance and quick movement sounds much like our wrens. Great catch and first image of the year, Royce!
