Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

"At least I keep moving." I agree! Excellent poetry, and the image is perfect with this one. ;o) It is great.

This is great! I love the few steps straight up. A well written piece. Nicely done!

very nicely done, Marilyn! And maybe all those sideways & backwards steps are moving forward too (it just takes a lot to feel good about that—I could write a book about that!) Your versification is just right for your thoughts, and you have some really nice sound-music & rhythms ("perpetual confusion/confoundment contradiction"—lotta c's, 'con's, really nice rhythms; things like that). You're getting really sensitive to the music in poetry. The piece moves in little lockets & breaths. See, your gallery could be an answer to all our movement: Beneath it all is the unmovable grace of heart & beauty & love...that's one answer to our wanderings...Love the picture too: Nice golds & light, could stand by itself. Always like to see your writing. Nice upload!

Introspective words, well thought out, that I can easily relate to. Your highly textured image reminds me of scenes from the movie, FOUR FEATHERS (two versions made, and I have both on DVD). There have been other films about people lost in the desert, with their footprints showing in the shifting sands, but that film is the most memorable to me.

Perpetual movement is good - life is never linear. I'm glad to see there are no steps straight down! Excellent words and beautiful photo.
