Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

You pictures are very blue? This is great to.

Any lower and we'd be looking only at that big round stone up ahead :-) I like these low level POV shots. Well done. Bill

Great POV Marilyn. Maybe not perfect but great! ;-)

Such beautiful country.....Great capture but I think the rocks overpower the image a little.

I can feel those pebbles in my solar plexus!

lol like Bill I thought "a bit lower and the pic would be a macro of the stone surfaces" :) (no, it's not meant ironically!) But a little thing caught my eye (not the first time) - SusanK mentioned it: some of your pics are a bit too blue; who knows, maybe it's intended, maybe it's your style but in some cases it's distracting... maybe you could fix this in your photo editing software with adjusting the tone...? Regards (and I hope you're not angry?) :) Karsten

Wow, those are some huge river rocks, there. Good foreground addition to the capture.

another nice shot of rocks in the foreground, banging up against our eyes and commanding the shot. And you got another branch to balance the massivity of the stones. The water & back-hills are nice swaths to balance it all out, along with a restful sky. Some thoughts, above, about the 'blueness': Actually you could do many versions of such shots, some in bluer tones, others in more earthen tones...these kinds of shots have several personalities, and it's up to the photographer to choose which touches them at the moment. In the old days of course, that would be accomplished in the darkroom—the old-days' version of PS (only you got your hands wet!). I really like the blue bouncing off the rocks. A very vivid capture.
