Description

The other night I had dinner with four of my nieces and nephews and their respective spouses, along with Trent and David. We had the best time! One of the truly nice things about hanging out with family is that we all know each other so well. The kids are all quite tolerant of me taking pictures of everything in sight, and they're even willing to help. Blake had a feature on his phone that provides different color lights, and he turned it on for me so I could experiment with different lighting setups. This was the first one, and if I remember correctly, he had given me a white light, off to the left. Either that, or he hadn't turned it on yet. (Sorry ... that's the best technical information I can give you.) The restaurant was pretty dark, but I managed to get several shots like this, and they all turned out great! I was happy to have taken what I learned in the "studio" and make it work out in the real world. Yay! Oh ... left to right, we have water, scotch, and iced tea.

(preceded by big smile) Yes, if I were to walk into a restuarant and see a lady taking pictures with a table top POV and a friend providing different color lighting effects with his cell phone, I should know in a moment, that I am about to meet Tara! Can you picture the scene? Love the light and colors. Say, #800 is drawing close for you. I am approaching #200. What's it going to be?

soaked in gold & ambers...I love your reddish-brown shots. And really, each drink looks different just as you describe; yet it's all of an inner glow & feels very cozy & intimate. The last time I had scotch I was under the table speaking in tongues—I think I'd handle the iced tea better (!)...but here it looks awfully enticing. Very warm & intimate shot, and I like all the reflections too...

This is so beautiful! The lighting makes the subject so rich...... tempting... tantalizing..... tasty... all the "t" words and more :) A true beauty, and a delight for the eyes! One can almost taste that cool, chilled liquid... although brilliantly contrasted with that warm, soothing appeal to it.... superb presentation!
