Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Cool. I've got a similar shot but not half so colorful of Lobster traps in Maine. Think I'll have a crab sandwich...almost lunch time here.

Andreas Gursky did a photo called, "99 Cents": I give you the URL below. I'm not suggesting you're influenced by it—not even a little, because you may never have seen it, and you have a vision all your own! But it may inspire you just to see a famous pic with stuff piled-up just like yours...In the meantime, yours is a big, tumultuous, wildly fun & vivid capture, dancing around with all those lines & blues & colors, etc, like a locker room for the crab-set. It's a real dance of a shot, I love it. A fav! (Here's the URL: I can't find a big version: This is from the Museum of Modern Art: You'd think they'd chip in for a big jpg once in awhile! Ugh! Well here it is:) Here!
