Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I love the way this turned out. Keeping the background and foreground was the way to go. Nice work!

agree with Tara 100%. You know, you've given us lots of images of the after-effects of the ocean, and each one has been a new experience. Here, the fence looks chewed up, I mean like some massive cat sharpened its claws on it & left it in shambles. Also I love the big area of water & marsh, it seems to go on forever...So that land was once pasture? And now its pocked by all that water? This series would make a good book, Marilyn, really: We're getting views of what water can do. And I Iove your blues here too, and that distant chunk of mountains & sky...

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above. I'm sorry, you knew that had to come sooner or later. On the serious side this is an excellent photo. Obviously, when the farmer/rancher placed his pasture there conditions had to have been dramatically different. But you've provided a lot of excellent photos to prove that point. Well done.

I love the little pockets of water scattered all over the "pasture", and the rusty texture of the barbed wire and fence...nice work!
