Description

Have I ever mentioned I really suck at coming up with names for my images? BAH! I just got InfinityRain and Digiport's new V4 Mermaid Poses from over at DAZ, and they inspired me to dig a few things out of my runtime that had been languishing. I really love it when I see a pose and it instantly gives me an idea. It's like a digital muse. If you're in need of a jump start for yourself you can run over to DAZ and check out what InfinityRain and Digiport have. So, I added on the LostRealms mermaid tail and just used one of the basic textures that come with the tail. I wanted cold looking fish girl, so I also pulled out Rebelmommy's Winter Dawn from over at RDNA. I also wanted some hair that would look kinda like seaweed and the Fox Hair by Arki (at DAZ) fit the bill. I also plundered my runtime for undersea corals and kelp. Judith and Traveler from RDNA came through for that. Their Modualz Aquatica sets are great. The ruin is an oldie but a goodie by Stonemason. It's a PC item called Greek Ruin, and I used the add-on pack Lost Temples for the Greek Ruin. The texture is more of a Central American theme, but I like the colors, so I didn't worry too much about whether the culture went with my mermaid. Our fanged fellow is Dinoraul's very cool Water Dragon. You can see a lot of his other critters both here at Rendo and then over at DAZ. The lighting is via two sources. One is a point light from Omnifreaker's UberPoint Light Shader for D/S. I placed it in the crystal of the staff. The other lighting is Milieux Luminaries by Macelene. There is a caustics setting that was perfect for my underwater drama. If you're a D/S user you can head over to DAZ to grab it. I nearly forgot... The girl's bra is from Aery_Soul's Classic Fantasy outfit. The texturing was done via shaders using Snaked! DS and Gleam for DAZ Studio, both by Khory_D and si_vincent and available here at Rendo. Aside from all that I used Patlash's "Get Fished!" Photoshop brushes to add some sparkle to the mermaid's tail. They're on sale right now at Rendo, so the timing is perfect.

"Deep Terror"? Or maybe "Flippers of Fury"? Titles can be such a pain huh? Oh well, the image is really great especially in terms of lighting. A bit of glass distortion with a blue overlay at a really low transparency setting might have worked out good.
