Description

Continuing excerpts from the diary of Toren Delgado, recording the events of what is now commonly referred to as "The Shortest War": "It's a bit easier to understand the ending of a fight than the beginning, I think. We retreated as the enemy launched his final volley of missiles. This, as it turned out, gave our escorts time to shoot down said missiles. The harder part was then chasing down the relatively vulnerable ship and disabling it. The raiders knew that if they were hit they were done, so they fought with abandon. We were hampered by the desire of our leaders to capture survivors. In spite of the hits they did score on us, they were finally hit as well. This disabled their engines, and more importantly, their power plant. We had our victory, and even had prisoners to prove who was responsible. The war, this shortest war we'd seen in recent times, was finally over." --------- Thus concludes this very long series. It turned out to be considerably longer than I'd planned, but things do tend to have their own way of progressing. As always, the ships were modeled and rendered in Bryce. All effects, compositing, and the background starscape and nebulae were all done in Photoshop CS3. Comments, suggestions, and critiques are most certainly welcome. I learn from what works, and what doesn't, so even critical-comments are welcome!

I'd like to see you do a tethered spaceship model--such as proposed by some for a long, slow journey to Mars. (Helps keep a more normal earth gravity by the rotation.)
