Description

This is for my friend Steve (Eekdog) who is going through some really hard times in this awful recession. Steve is such a loyal supporter of me and to so many people here at Renderosity and it is scary to think we may lose him for a while if things do not turn around. Drop by his site and do wish him well, he needs all our blessings. Blessed be my dear friend, please hang in there and may the power of the Goddess always be at your side. This is also for all you V3 lovers out there; I won't name names but you know who you are! This is just a simple test and a demo to see how far I could push a V3 character in a close up portrait shot - something I normally never do, but I was curious to see what I could do with her. I particularly wanted to see if I could get pore and skin structure. This is Shadiya for V3 by Valea and Arki at DAZ combined with Faceoff's Unimesh Realism kit here at RMP. The light set is from DM mixed fantasy, sorry I forget which one, but it is an interior light set. It was rendered at 800 dpi with depth map shadows, a min shade rate of 0.1 and smooth polygons on. The background is several layers of Ron's smoke combined with layers of Ron's Flames. I kept it simple, but appropriate for the type of Goddess she was. Belili is a largely forgotten dark Goddess in the Mesopotamian pantheon. She was the sister of Tammuz, who is all too familiar to us by now. Although she was considered a minor deity she played a key part in the Ishtar in the Underground story, as you will soon find out. As is typical of Mesopotamian deities, she was a complicated character, and though a dark goddess she shows us that there can be light in darkness. I hadn't planned on doing this portrait but I wanted to give a gift to Steve and let him know I am thinking of him. So I did this portrait of Belili to show you how pretty she is; the point of view in the next shot in the series does not do her face justice but it was the best camera angle for the scene. I take this opportunity to now show you the beautiful Goddess Belili. The next two scenes will bring this series to its conclusion. They will be released within a few days of each other, not my normal weeks-apart pattern. But I need to get both sets completely done, I have the text for one and the image for the other so it may take a while. Hopefully, next week. Previous in Ishtar series

I wish I could find something more inspired than "beautiful portrait" but it really is a great picture. Lovely work!

A very attractive character, love her sleek hair too. The nose piercing adds that little glint. I had my nose pierced in India on 14/12/1979 - 30 years this year lol-I was a young hippy in those days, now I am nearing 50 but do I care? nope, I will embrace my 50th as I embraced my piercing all those years ago :)

V3 doesn't normally like closeups, but this one is fantastic! A beautiful character, obviously rendered with great care and attention to detail. My only comment is that I think it could be even better with a bit less saturation.

Most impressive that you managed to tweak such lovely closeup realism out of V3. I really love the layered brush effect for background too. Nice!
