Description

Walking along the bay, I saw this well used boat anchored at the marina. Lots of rust there, but the rest of it was clean and well kept. Most of the boats at this particular marina are used all the time, unlike other places where they barely get wet!

Wow very nice capture! Very interesting subject. The lighting is pretty good despite the dark trees on the horizon.

She looks a rather distinguised old lady. Like me she has a good figure, but the surface quality leaves much to be desired!! Hehe!!

Very good pic here. I am a boat fan too. There is always a lot of character in a commercial vessel and yours has a lot of character. Won't be cheap to get this old boat looking snazzy again.

As long as you can bail fast enough, you can keep nearly anything afloat. LOL Wonderful find!

Wouldn't want to be caught at sea in a storm, but it looks like a comfortable ride around the harbor or hugging the shore! Great shot!

Stellar capture, but good heavens, didn't I see that same boat in the movie, The African Queen? How could the owner and/or captain allow this state of affairs? Rust not only looks unattractive, but it also eats holes in metal, which on a ocean going vessel, would lead to taking on water, and eventually, Davy Jones Locker.

What colours there are are gorgeous. Let's hope the economy allows the removal of the rust soon.

I'm skipping around (I'll get them all before long!)...this is filled with lines and interplays, and the many shapes of the cars behind the boat are fascinating & full background (they harmonize with the "boat stuff" on the boat). You always do so well with shots like these (I can see why that Gursky appealed to you...), you get lots of vitality in them. As for the rust, it's really apparent in full-view, and it's beautiful stuff; gives real character to the shot. Clear background sky too. A fine, vital shot. You & water really get along...
