Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very nicely done, Bill. Been a long time, and how we chuckled over the old 78's at one point. Almost all gone the way of the 8-tracks, now, but for the original zipper and sgt pepper with the inside insert still intact. Just can't do it yet.

WOW I have and still use my old pioneer PLA 35 turntable that I got back in 1972. YOu can't beat the sound of albums. Great photo, does bring back memories.

Some things just can't be replaced....this turned out great...

This may be one of your best, Bill - the reflections are terrific and the focal point is splendid.

Oh gee. To a simpler time when I could sit and listen, lost in the music. The records went when we downsized to a condo. Kept the hi-fi for the am/fm tuner and the old cushy headset. Now my music comes from the library on CDs. Good work on the photo, Bill.

Fantastic capture, Bill! Great composition! I got lots of LP's, and I transferred most of them on CD's... The hardest job was the sound cleaning...

Hey, I like it. Great work. Just for the heck of it, did you thump the stylus to here the Bruuuuuurpzzz as the needle slid across the disc? Cheers, Skipper

Love the shine and a sharpnes on the record with a groove nicely visible.

Thank you, my dear! This is even more beautiful full size. (I even recognise the brand from the dots on the turntable - it's a Technics.) :) The lighting, the dof, the red background ... it all comes together nicely to form a wonderfully rich whole. I particularly like the bit where the light hits the vinyl right next to the stylus, creating a reflection. Kudos, and thank you again, from one "Mid-Century Modern" to another.

Outstanding find and equally outstanding shot.

Excellent composition and capture!

Stellar macro portrait of the musical equipment! Hmmmm, Tara, Tara...yes, I seem to remember that name from my Internet travels. Thankx for the time trip to the past, Bill. I have tons of 33-1/3rpm LPs, plus two phonographs to play them on. In fact, I have lots of CDs and several 45rpm records to boot. I also have cassettes, but I deep-sixed my 8-track player and tapes eons ago.

Such memories! You could look at the record and tell how far into the song you were.

I recently sold my collection of records for far more than I ever paid for them and I bet the man made far more than I got.I had the very first album of the Beatles.they were in very good shape but over the years my son must have scratched them.I felt lucky to get what I received.outstanding capture and my turntable is gathering dust also

Amazing results with this photo. Brings back lots of memories. I still have oodles of 33 1/3s stored away. No record player however.

I was JUST thinking about my old turntable out on the back porch. This is a great shot--can't believe there's not a scratch to be seen on that record!! My LP's are out in the shed somewhere (gasp, yeah I know, BAD place for em!)

I fondly remember using my old turntable. It is still in the garage I think, bough while in Okinawa as part of a larger Pioneer system (late 1980s). Thanks for the memory. Looking forward to seeing how your IRs progress.
