Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Fascinating subject and most excellent capture!

A beautiful sight! All that stuff is useless until you know how to use it! We have no laws about passing a boat driving test, so is you've got the loot you can spend any amount of money on a vessel and then set off to sea. We live very near Poole harbour and the Sunseeker boatbuilders, big bucks small brains territory. Can be very dangerous if you swim out even a couple of hundred yards!

Great capture!

Look at the sea gulls on top of the vertical masts...I see three gulls with the best view in the harbor. Nothing unusual...the gulls on the east coast do exactly the same thing. Excellent shot. Powerful searchlights on the Sea Princess for doing her thing at anytime of the day or night. I like this.

wonderful scenery.

I love this, something about boats is so romantic...must be sailor blood in me way back there somewhere (along with the troll and yeti genes!)

I still have some left-over images, but I'll skip ahead to this for tonight: Love the clarity on the masts & verticals, and how the background trees frame them so nicely. The light gives these a kind of 'patina', as they all seem to be of the same mood. And it's amazing how many types of visuals there are here. Another of your packed "stuff" shots, meaning lots of visual entities in one photograph, packed and rhythmic and jazzy and alive. Great place to stop for tonight, but I'll be back! (7 more to go for 900! Voila!)
