Description

Cropped this photo several ways. A tight crop made this circa 1865 "German, bank barn" the star. But after much indecision I went with this crop that put the barn in the context of an absolutely gorgeous winter afternoon that saw a high of 70 degress F. Winter days don't get more comfortable than this, here in Kansas. The last real use of this barn was for horses stabled here as a remount point. May follow this up with a collage that shows the other sides of this solid, old barn and the handsome old farm house nearby. Hope you like this special posting for my 200th upload here on Rendo. Thanks for all your wonderful support. Your comments keep me going. Bill:) P.S. I left the file large for good zooming. P.S.S. This goes with the wind mill I posted yesterday as Before Electrification

Your 200th is a good one. Ya, done good. Looking forward to 200 more, with some done in this area. The Artillery, Infantry and Swabbie Airplane drivers left at zero dark hundred. Last night as we gathered for the Adult Beverage part of the evening, you were in our thoughts and conversation. Hope your ears were burning. Sure is quiet on the hill now. Cheers and best to you, Skipper

200! Yea!!!!!! And I've enjoyed every one of them so much! And not only is this well composed for subject matter but the light gives those long shadows that bring even more depth to the shot.

Stellar voyage of depth in this shot, enhanced by the long tree shadows that lead the eye directly towards the barn, which looks in pretty good shape for its age, Bill. And congratulations on reaching the big two-oh-oh!

Happy 200th Bill, it's been a wonderful, illuminating and most enjoyable journey, I raise a glass to the next leg of the trip. Another outstanding picture, just seems to go on and on forever, could be wrong but is this the part of the country refered to as 'the flatlands', if so can't imagine why! :) Here's to the next 200- cheers my friend.

Awesome red! Really stands out in the autumn scene! (Or Winter). These Old barns are such sad sights, but at least you have a few of them still standing. Room dictates that most old farm building are knocked down to make way for the new! Such a shame. Lovely shot, my friend. Rob.
