"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Well it is as wonderful as you told me it was. And I think the crop is fantastic, it looks like a beautiful country painting. Well done on your 200th post. They have ALL been a delight to view. It is going into the 60's here this week as well, it sure is a nice change. Enjoy~~

Your 200th is a good one. Ya, done good. Looking forward to 200 more, with some done in this area. The Artillery, Infantry and Swabbie Airplane drivers left at zero dark hundred. Last night as we gathered for the Adult Beverage part of the evening, you were in our thoughts and conversation. Hope your ears were burning. Sure is quiet on the hill now. Cheers and best to you, Skipper

the soft foreground shadows act as excellent leading lines to a well positioned subject, and the crop works very well.. excellent photo and cheers to your 200!

Congratulations on your 200th upload, my friend! I've enjoyed seeing your work very much, and am looking forward to hundreds more from you. :) What a fantastic old barn. It looks like it must have been very well made, to be in such great shape. Excellent capture! The collage will be great. I can't wait to see it!

200! Yea!!!!!! And I've enjoyed every one of them so much! And not only is this well composed for subject matter but the light gives those long shadows that bring even more depth to the shot.

Congratulations on your 200th. It is a great one. I like pictures of old barns and I like the history of the old wind mill.

Very nice image! I like the shadows of the trees in the foreground. :)

Stellar voyage of depth in this shot, enhanced by the long tree shadows that lead the eye directly towards the barn, which looks in pretty good shape for its age, Bill. And congratulations on reaching the big two-oh-oh!

Happy 200th Bill, it's been a wonderful, illuminating and most enjoyable journey, I raise a glass to the next leg of the trip. Another outstanding picture, just seems to go on and on forever, could be wrong but is this the part of the country refered to as 'the flatlands', if so can't imagine why! :) Here's to the next 200- cheers my friend.

Congratulations on your 200th Bill. Your images are always a joy to see my friend so here's to the next 200. This is just the thing to see on a cold snowy day like today :)

Awesome red! Really stands out in the autumn scene! (Or Winter). These Old barns are such sad sights, but at least you have a few of them still standing. Room dictates that most old farm building are knocked down to make way for the new! Such a shame. Lovely shot, my friend. Rob.
