I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

The modeling & texture on the planet are wonderful! Very good work :)

Very nice. I love that "hard" sci-fi look to the ship. Very practical looking.

Very nice. I like the engines set near the center of mass; I assume they're all four on equally long "stilts", but its hard to tell from the angle. Great cargo modules too. And of course a great starscape background.

Superb textures and fabulous scene here. It's nice to know that people like you are exploring the amazing possibilies of Bryce. So few artists do it over here, alas.

Your modeling is just getting better and better. You are really creating your on unique style and this is what really sets you apart from others in this genre! I have a question for you though, are you rendering the ship and planet at the same time? Cheers, David

Beautifully done. I like the ratchety modular cargo pods. The ship reminds me of river barges being pushed or pulled along by a tug boat. I could see this same set-up extended into long strings of the cargo pods with an engine or crew module in the center and then another at the far end pushing.

A fabulous render. However, I have a question about the ships design. I'd think the propulsion jets would damage the front "containers" or freight capsules. Wouldn't it be better to have the engines at the rear where the exhaust wouldn't hurt anything? You'd probably would have to have the fuel tanks with that rear unit. It could be able to detach and attach to the capsules or the command module. It could be like a modern railroad train, where you have an engine that can push the cars from behind and all the cars can be coupled and uncoupled. Or the engine unit could be connected by a long set of framework to the command module and the individual capsules docked along the frame. Just something to think about. Grin.
