Another magnificent architectural creation dating back to the late 1800's, now abandoned, endangered, and therefore obviously under appreciated. No doubt some good people today are struggling to find a way to preserve this beautiful treasure that has somehow survived today's mindless dribble towards modernization (http://www.memphisheritage.org/). But at the same time others are sure to be scheming to call in the demolition crews, perhaps during BBQ Festival weekend here in Memphis when everyone is cholesterol laden and drunken beyond their intelligence. By the time anyone would notic the gapping hole in the skyline, something new and contemporary would be standing in its place. Fact is, most Memphians wouldn't notice at all and even if they did they wouldn't give a shyte. Whatever. Somewhere someone surely has enough capital to restore this gem from the past and create some new upscale dwelling or uptown office space - or anything! You'd think so.
