Hi, I'm Marilyn. Ă‚Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Ă‚Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Ă‚Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Ă‚Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Ă‚Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Ă‚Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Ă‚Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Ă‚Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

What a lovely spot.

Now, that bench was made for sitting! Why is it every bench I see I want to photograph? Inevitably it faces something worth seeing. Nicely done!

Time to sit and ponder on this elegant piece of furnature, I saw a guy named Norm Abrahams make something simillar in a show called the New Yankee workshop, that guy is one helluva good carpenter, a master in fact, very nice POV you chose here Maz!

Couldn't find your camera at that one essential moment? Batteries running low? Sounds like Lois Lane in a Superman movie. Stellar POV, contrast and texture blends in this foto, Marilyn.

Beautiful bench, I would have been tempted to lift it ;) Great shot, though, even if it is with a "foreign" camera!

yeah monasteries can be austere, but they do have wonderful gardens & alcoves & places of private contemplation, and there's something about their chairs & benches that feel like that's what benches were made for in the first place: i.e., to go in a place like this. Quiet & reflective shot, very peaceful...glad you picked up the magnetic aura...nice quiet lighting too...And glad you found your camera! (You know, right, that if you looked in that bag—like, first thing? It wouldn't have been there! That's the rule: The gods want you to not look so you can come back later and find it. Just the little fun they have at our expense...)
