Description

This one's dedicated to Ronnie (PD154) who expressed a liking for the shot, which was a part of a collage of edits I never posted for whatever reason. To be honest I'm not sure why I never did post this, it's definitely my best spider shot to date. I took this while wandering around a vineyard in France, only noticing spidey just as I was about to walk right into it. I used my dad's Tamron 28-300 VR for this one, which has 1:3 macro ability and image stabilization.. very handy! Adam

And it looks superb in the bigger format mate, thank you for the dedi, when I saw the smaller image on the colage, I knew I wanted to see this larger, it's a super macro, and Andrea is also going to love it!

great shot Adam, the colour tones in this image give it a sense of old vintage film! Boris Karlof kind of stuff!

just had a little look around online and I think the species is the St Andrews Cross Spider... haha I've come across the odd cross spider in St Andrews which didn't look anything like it =D

Well thats a great image of this spider in waiting pose with the front legs extended to feel the vibrations! And it would be good one for you coming from St Andrews.. The zig zag in the web is a common feature of Orb web spiders and so Dont think this is that species which is native to Australia..
