Description

Taken at the Museum of Appalachia I hope you enjoy. I am leaving for home (California) on Thursday to visit my family and to see my Dad, it is his birthday on Friday and I am going to surprise him, he doesn’t know I am coming. I hope to try to get a few photos while I am there, the town I am from is a beautiful area and is the home of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and it sets high up on a hill and overlooks the valley it is stunning, also quite a few movies and series have been filmed there, including the series Little House on the Prairie and the Mini series the Thorn Birds, and I do know of a old windmill that use to sit out in a field hopefully it is still there. But most of my time will be spent with my parents my dads health has not been good the last few years, and so spending time with him right now is my first priority. Not sure if I will download anything before I leave so I wish you all well, and I promise to catch up when I return.

Thank you to all those that encouraged me about the series of the four seasons I hope to capture.

you got a very nice angle on this, Lynell, you got the frontality of it, plus those wonderful looming trees in the background (and on the right, you caught the light coming through them, very nice). Plus you gave us a shot of the other side, with its striated wood and 'stuff' lying around. You always show us the unnamable things that populate these buildings, and that's something we should always see. More chronicling of your area, and you've allowed the decayed wood to sing...Well, I wish you a fine & safe journey, and hope it's a wonderful surprise for your Dad (and his birthday). Have a safe trip, may it be full & loving.

Ahhh ! going to California! Say hi for me, I may go back this summer to visit, By the way, Laura Ingalls who wrote the Little House on the Prarie books is my Cousin a few times removed, My Daughter kept being asked when she was in Grammer school If she was related to Laura Ingalls as our name is spelled the same, and through many searches we found out that we are definetly direct blood line cousins. Nice photo!! I like these type photos and also your tractor photos!! !! You made a great Capture here Lynell !! [^____^] Cheers, Roger

That is such a neat place. I like old places like this. Enjoy the time with your dad. I am sure you will take some pictures and will look forward to seeing them. Enjoy the heat. It's cold here and then I see that it is 80 something in AZ.
