Description

I took this foto almost 20 years ago in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. I scanned it, and postworked and PhotoShopped it till I finally got something I liked. This beach is right in town, in front of the King Kamehameha Hotel. Hawaii's next on my list of places to go, and I'd love to get a chance to try out those boats!!

OK, this is on the Big Island. I've been to Hawaii at least 10 times and have never made it off Oahu. Seven or eight times was on business, so I have a partial excuse. This looks great and if you can skip driving in Oahu's traffic, all the better. Got more?

You certainly can't get lost in open water in one of these! I bet you can spot one from the mainland! I'll have to give that a try next time I'm in Ft. Bragg. :-) Very nice shot.

All the above, plus great scan and postwork job, Marilyn! I wish my film scans came out this well. My nephew lives on the big island.

beautiful landscape Marilyn, very vivid; and you got a nice flow of the land angling up against the beach, nice angles...And the water shimmers in a rich dark-greenish blue. Fine water capture. I wish I could say "I know this place," as Bill says, but I've never been to California, not to mention the Pacific. The red of the boats really sets off the whole picture, and contrasts beautifully against all that green...You should definitely post more of your pre-digital shots. You apparently had an eye for photography for a long time...(I have pre-digital shots too, but my scanner said, "sorry: not good enough..." Do you know how embarrassing that is?) I'm catching up (such a pleasure!), and I'll get to the rest in the next few nights. You always have such vitality here...
