Hi, I'm Marilyn. Ă‚Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Ă‚Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Ă‚Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Ă‚Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Ă‚Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Ă‚Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Ă‚Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Ă‚Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

How I wish mine would get lush like this! I LOVE rhubarb and my plant supplies much less than I'd like. Even though you dislike it, you have to admit it makes a gorgeous pic!

Good photo. Quite a crop (pun intended). Do you mean you never bake a Rhubarb pie? If so, you are missing a real treat. Do your neighbors get first dibs on those lucious stalks? I don't normally get all fired up by plants...except those that can be eaten :)

I love rhubarb !

Superb photograph! How could you not like such a wonderful plant! Just look at the colour, detail in the leaves. It cries out "eat me". They are survivors in most gardens- good job too for mine is fearfully neglected yet we always have a great crop. It is very versatile in cooking, medication and wine making. I bet you would like the wine:-))

I love rhubarb, and I've noticed mine is coming up nicely already. It's the first thing to show up in my garden every year. :) I love the way you've cropped this ... it makes for a great composition!

I love the detail in the leaves!

First off, I don't partake in rhubarb. Second, the name reminds me of Rollo Rhubarb, the perpetual blond nemesis of the cartoon strip Katznjammer Kids, Hans and Fritz, of yore. That said, terrific clarity and vivid colors in this neato capture, Marilyn. The leaves remind me of swiss chard.

Look at thise glowy colours. Beautiful

boy, ya mention rhubarb once, ya get 2000 recipes from your wonderful friends—I didn't know there was even one recipe! Well I don't have any recipes, so I'll just talk about the pic. Another shot with various twists & turns, and it giving us a generous view of the complexities of the plant world, especially full size. You really have a feel for the spill of nature, this is a big gathering of leaves & stems & shadows, etc. I can't believe someone actually mentioned the Katznjammer Kids (harry), a name I remember from my childhood; and I've had lots of swiss chard, and it reminds me of rhubarb too. A big full capture, and actually very appetizing...

The colors are so intense that I can feel the force of a strong plant. Well done!
