“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Thanks Bill for posting this. It's so different from anything we have in Oz. Even though I lived in the US for quite a while, I never made it down your way. It's beautiful to see such wonderful countryside. Visiting your part of the world is definitely on my list of things to do! Is that a haystack in front? I'm sorry if that is a dumb question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is just something about hay rolls. Like a way they run through a picture.

Wonderful farm scene, Bill!! So pristine and clean around the barns! Shows how much they care about their place, even if somewhat sterile. Very nicely done!!!

I would love to see this place again in the late spring or early summer ... if you go for another drive out that way! :) It's a beautiful place, and the contrast between bare trees and all leafed out would be amazing!

Superlative POV, DOF and lighting in this grand vista, Bill! But, hay rolls? At first glance I could have sworn those were spools of barbed wire. Or better yet, a giant version of a garage door mechanism screwlike rod.

Beautiful Bill. I have never seen a roll of hay that long. How do they transport it?

oh, beautiful, the beauty of the gently rolling plain, you capture its poetry in your gallery many times. I've seen these hay rolls, but in your picture they have an almost grayish-silvery quality, like they were metal cable or even old twine. Amazing effect. I notice how often you capture landscapes with angles, to break the 'box' and allow us to see several angles at once. (Esp important in the US Midwest where boxy captures are all too common.) The trees in the background are soft, and that sky could almost be an ocean or some hills. And because of your angle, we see the farm & related buildings spread across the landscape very nicely. I'm close to this part of the world, this is a definite fav for me.
