Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Good one Bill, did he catch anything?

Good for him! He knew his limits, and had his focus on his one fish. Love how you caught the lure in the best possible spot for contrast, with the seafoam background.

Great shot of the finer things in life, I used to love going fishing, don't do it much these days?...Wonderful square format Bill suits this image well.

Non pareil POV employed to capture the keen colors, contrast, lighting effects and vast array of textures in this shot, Bill! Ironic that your title is similar to one beachzz used yesterday..."Have a seat."
MrsRatbag
maybe this is what Marilyn's chair was used for? I think he just wanted to be out there for the atmosphere, or maybe he has a really killer cast! Great shot!

He certainly does have the right idea, I hope he was lucky enough to catch a fish. Excellent capture.

Beats the heck out of standing in cold water with a wary eye for the rogue wave.

I love chairs by rivers and water--and this guy has the same idea--great shot!!

Now my idea of fishing is similar, with water, sand, chair, but I differ in that I forgo the pole and just bring a good book instead. Great shot though, even if he has to (shudder) unhook what he catches! : )

I can't imagine fishing like this on the shore, only at a pond or lake. Cool shot. :)

Ha! He's got the right idea! Sea Anglers here in the UK, bring tents, lawn chairs and all kind of gear! Mind you, they tend to stay out ALL night.... I like the look of your guy! Lounging in sun. Casually casting, then dozing off! Great picture, Bill. Rob.

wow bill, beautiful detail & lights on the rocks & waves, and the bottom portion (the sand) gives the right contrast. The rocks are amazing because they start and end rather quickly, but they go from smaller to larger pretty dramatically. It's almost as if someone set them up that way. And you got the smoother bluer water in the top of the shot too—nice layers. Maybe you didn't set out to capture all that, but your eye picked it up anyway (good old eye, it never lets the artist down), and I really like the choices from top to bottom. Oh, and the fisherman's shirt harmonizes with the water—I'm sure he'd be thrilled to know that! Nice contrast to the panorama, where the shore isn't nearly as detailed, being swept up by the overall view. Very nice shot.
