Description

A little too neat to be an everyday working farm. This farm is in Tongonoxie, Kansas about 15 miles from my home in Leavenworth. This is my second ever actual panorama. It is composed of three hand held photos stitched together in Photoshop CS4. Wasn't planning on taking a panorama and didn't have my tripod. Reasonably pleased with this outcome but will pay more attention to focusing on objects beyond the fence next time:) Here's a closer view of that extra big farm house: Click Here ZOOM this panorama for full effect. Thanks for stopping by and a big shout out for all your support via comments and favorites. Bill Cross reference: First Panorama

Wow, Bill, this is beautiful!! What a great job you did stitching these together!! I love the whole look, the windmill, the fence; it's all so classic!!

Wow ... what a tidy place! Great idea for a pano, and it turned out beautifully!

All that tidiness is a bit freaky! Great pano.

This is very lovely, Bill!! You did a great job on the pano stitching and the warm rich color really shows off this tidy little farm! Well done!

Great composition. Looks more like a horse farm than the "working" farm. Show horses, maybe a Derby winner. Beautiful place.

lol, Andrea, about the tidiness! yeah, it is very neat & clean, as you suggest. But a beautiful panorama, seamless, and I don't know the technical name but it's almost as if you used that lens configuration that flattens space so that the back space seems slightly vertical. The fence is very vivid full size, and because of your pov, it's really the ambassador who takes us through the shot. And the sky is big an bold too. Big spacious & roaming shot, and I love the pre-spring browned grass and that lone windmill in the distance. I'm heading off to the house now...

Hand held! Well, I'm impressed! VERY impressed. As for the focusing. In my humble view it's best with the fence mainly in focus and farmhouse slightly out. Gives it that DOF (Depth Of Focus). A really fine and indeed EPIC work. Rob.

Fence the ambassador. Well said and I agree with the comment. The grass is beautiful, too. It looks trimmed. Superb work all around.

Neat work for hand held. In similar no-tripod situations, try putting your jacket on the roof of your vehicle, bunch it up, and shoot. (Uh, engine off, please.)

Great pic! I visited Kansas some years ago, and I believe it is wrongly underrated as a tourist place!

Great pano! Yes, the DOF could be deeper, but it's still a cool photograph!

You can see so much more with a panorama and I think you have made a great job of this lovely neat farm.

Great job Bill. I never use a tripod for panos. This place reminds me a little of the TV show 'Dallas'.

A panoramic view of the first water, Bill, with distinct clarity and detail throughout! Plus, pretty good hand-held quality, and you did a stellar job stitching together your photos, a process I've never tried myself.
