Description
weather won't let me photograph the work in progress painting , maby tomorrow.
This is a wall mural I painted in 06, its 40feetx12feet painted in exterior latex and acrylics.
It's in a small town in Iowa, the town was originally founded about 12 miles from here when the railroad came thru they litteralry moved the town so about 1/3 of the buildings are not on their original foundations.... Moving a whole town (CRAZY) Anyway they requested , that I portray the past and the present, with a train as the focal point, other than that I was given full artistic liscense . A large portion of the tracks in Iowa have been torn up and turned into bike trails .... Thus the bike!

What a great mural! How fortunate the town was to find you. It's perfect for what they asked you to do. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Wow, wow, wow!!!! This is incredible Tom!!!!.... I love your trompe l'oeil !!!! One of my absolute favorite techniques!!! This image is bright, warm and magical.... A tip of the hat to the history of the town with a firm and bright outlook towards the future!!!! Your use of color is well-practiced and expertly applied....I am amazed at paintings of this scale and precision.....Instant favorite!!!!!!!!
