Description

the black material is cinders from the volcano that erupted around 1064AD . the landscape here is so surreal thanks for viewing and any comments I replaced the sky since the original was more surreal than the landscape

Has an alien feel to it. Looks lonely and surreal. Really cool shot. Love the craggy brush in the foreground. Nice photo!

Isn't it great that volcanologists can put a date on the last eruption! Looks a bit like a giant sand dune from this POV...but I know there must be a lot more to it. Like it.

That would have been cool to see--from a safe distance;-) I like the contrast between the dark sand and the lighter rocks. This part of the world always reminded be of coyote and roadrunner cartoons;-)

I have expressed a wish to see this several times when I'm in AZ but there are a few things I have interest in that apparently my siblings don't and so we usually end up "running out of time" when I'm there. LOL this is really amazing and the gentle ripples in the cinders reminds me of giant sidewinder tracks.
