UPDATED:Â September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
Â
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
Â
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
Â
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Â
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Nice mood, crispy shot.

Wow, they look like they go on forever! Great shot, looks like low tide?
drace68
Umm, I'd guess the tide at just before full flood - no wracke. I fair-weather cumulus do look to "go on forever!" And the echelon of pilings. And the echelon of boulders forming a groin. Neat pic, Bill.
Sea_Dog
Great shot.

Beautiful work, Bill. I can't tell what you changed, but I have a feeling you've made this scene even more amazing than it started out. Hehe. If it was exactly this way that day? Then you still pulled off an excellent capture.
goodoleboy
Oh yes, someone had fun with postwork in this fantastic image -- so stark, contrasting, sharply defined, deeply textured and colorful! Besides the beautiful clouds flying by on their way back to base, I like the rocks and the posts and pillars over at the bottom right.

Awesome capture, Bill!

Great capture Bill. Looks more like a fleet of spaceships coming toward us in a sci-fi movie!

Great shot!!

Too many war movies? Too many parades at El Cid, wouldn't you say that Col.? Great shot. Army guys look to the clouds for air support, we Navy guys look for a dock for some shore leave... Love the old pilings sorta remind me of the end of Market Street before Hugo. Side note: Julia's house almost finished. Looks to be about 28,000 sq ft. A commanding presence. Cheers, Skipper62

Top post work, Bill. Bring them out REALLY well. A magnificent view. A great feeling of space and cleanness. Well done, my friend. Rob.

That's lovely, wonderful formations of clouds and very nicely composed... well done, Bill!

And I just saw the pier posts all in a row--maybe I spend too much time at the beach--great shot, Bill!!

a very fine symphony of blues of several kinds, and textures—like on the water, in the clouds & in those wonderful wooden pillars in the water (break-waters? don't know they're function, but they're wonderfully visual in this shot). And your lines here are fine too, the way the shore juts out to parallel the rocks in front of it, and the line of the wooden pillars as well. Very musical, nice lines, and the detailing is fine as well.

Super capture and congratulations on having your work selected for Photo Forum's Gallery 15.
