Description

If you going to the Grand Canyon; please go to Red Mountian. It be toward the end of the road as you leave Flagstaff on the left. There is a sign on the right that points to Red Mountian. or the end of the mountians which ever way you wish to see it. But go in the morning. richardphoto and me did not stop here but I did with my son a few years ago.he wish to go back and camp there. On page 70 og my gallery you see three of my post with Red Mountian. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=199333&page=70 is the link to page 70. Go in the mouning as the sun hits the face of the red you see. there is a hikeing trail you have to walk for a mile in but it worth it. Very easy trail and if you wish to camp there go ahead. Now I wish you to go when the sun is hitting it in the morning as it hits a rare rock this volcano made. I saw thew rock in a book on rocks around the area and i saw Red mountian there and this type of rock[blow my mind lol] It will shine like stars but they are as small as a gran of sand so do not look for big pieces. You see them in the sand and in the rocks faces and in the hoodoos. It so lovely to see it. In the afternoon the sun is not hitting the face as it be in shadedows. You will walk into the hoodoos of this volcano. it looks like the side was blow away long time ago. now the cone of hole of the volcano is still there but you have to walk up the mountian to the top of it to look into it. There be no store there; so bring your water with you and any food you wish too. I thought of the wild life in this area and not sure what the worse. Guess it be snakes in the summer. As to lions or bears I not sure? Guess you have to ask around Flagstaff of the dangers. But the trail is well walked on. thanks for looking I thing I zoom into this with 250mm on my zoom. I used manul settings as it a old file len I bought for $25. you can see the face with some of the holes and some hoodoos thanks for looking and make plans to see this. You will not be disappointed.
