UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very good shot. You are wise to leave it in color.. Brings out more of the drama of the project.

Super shot. Great project. Are they going to go back to making their stoves again? I hope so.

The grunge, color and texture are very well accentuated, Bill, but it's that wonderful burgundy door that really catches my eye!! Nicely done, sir!

Really cool, I like the reflections in the glass.

Great image Bill yes Colour works best here, and love the little mini collages from those windows!

I would think this old timer, rather than be refurbished, would be completely razed and replaced by a brand new building. In California, brick construction aside, it would have to be brought up to modern earthquake standards. But, then again, it's in Kansas, and money is short these days. In any case, stellar color and texture effects in this fine shot, Bill!

H'mm, wonder what they have in mind.

I wonder if this is going to be made in to modern apartments. I have seen some wonderful conversions. Lovely capture with all the colouring of the bricks.

What a fine old building--how wonderful it's being redone instead of destroyed--great foto!!

I'm glad they're refurbishing it. I hope to see its progress! :)

Wow! 1860's.

Well! I'M glad they are keeping the old building! A much 'nicer' building with character, un-like modern 'beasts that adorn cities and towns world wide.... Yes, they gleam, but that's it. Beautiful brick colouring. Great Postwork. (shame the sky gets layers! Mine does the same!) Time to go walkabout Stamford I think! Rob.

oh this is a really solid 19th C. industrial facade. Yes, B&W would be nice, but a wholly different picture; with an old sooted building like this, the color shows its age and its life. It's interesting how the brighter bands in the center & the orange in the window-tops make the thing look incandescent. And of course it's built so that the warehouse entrances are raised above the ground...A muscular monolithic beast that has a dignity all its own, and I'll be excited to see what it looks like when they're finished. (You have to post a photo when they do. You're committed now, you can't let us down...) Strong frontal capture that gets the essence of the whole thing...and those reflective windows & the dumpster make it look like a piece of art...

...and the postwork you chose looks really justifiable, Bill!
