Description

This was created more of a test than anything else. All of the land materials are driven by bitmaps for diffuse & displacements. Grass is a photo of grass (tiled), rock is a photo of rock (tiled) & the sand...yep same again :) Only used slope blending. The sky is a mojo library default. Poatworked somelights in, tweaked the contrast & sharpness very slightly & then framed & text with Ulead Photoimpact11. Rendered at AA6 GD6 in about 2.5 hrs TFV&C Wºz™ Single Perlin terrain with Ridged noise.

Should add reduced image size to 75% due to filesize limits & "planes" is a play on words for the bitmap planes :)

I like it man, looks great to me but you sure conjured up some questions. Bitmaps for Displacements?....hmmm! I have been making more BMPs for mats too trying to get them to tile better. The 512K limit is a pain for sure, you'd think a site like this could afford at least a Meg. Peace

Bitmaps for displacements...yes. In the material setup a bmp for the displacement as you would a diffuse :)

You mentioned this tiled grass effect to me recently.....Looks spot on man!!...in fact all the elements compliment the whole image perfectly...Excellent work Woz!!
