Description
This week I did my first oil paintings in 30 years. All of them were unfinished, and since I won't be going back to that studio anymore (sigh), I decided to finish them in Photoshop. So...this is a 50-50 Oil/Photoshop painting. (I added a darker version for the fun of it: It's #2.)

Well I love the first one totally. Until I look at the second one. Then I love second one totally. Each is SO different .. like night and day. There! That's it, it IS night and day! Well more like dawn and dusk. Gorgeous. I think painting is difficult no matter the medium. Pushing those little pixels around and getting them to pay attention is just as hard as pushing oils around and trying to make them behave.

These are lovely and though it's no longer spring, I can appreciate the painting. I like the day/night views. I love how the two trees are holding each other's branches as if they are two old friends celebrating the season together. The one on the right seems to be the strongest, blooming fully, growing upright, and nurturing or coaxing the one on the left. You've done some great texturing here. I hope you won't give up painting in oils with or without the studio. The computer is a fantastic tool, but it doesn't provide the same experience as smelling fresh paint and turpentine or standing in the presence of a large canvas.
