Also from the botanical gardens in Mexico. This pond didn't have the clearest water, but the lotus flowers and lily pads floating in it more than made up for that. zoom for sure

the light in this shot makes it look like a big shimmering dream. It's almost phantasmagorical. The pond is a sheet of glass, and the back-accents are sweeps of light. Those are lotuses? Wow, I didn't know they existed outside India & the Orient. (It's a big symbol in the east, the flower with beautiful petals that reach the sky, but whose roots are in the deepest waters—i.e., a human being.) Light-filled shot and another of your vivid shots from Mexico.

Incredible! Lotus in mexico!Hmm... like anahata I too didn't expect it. It grows only in muddy water. Its our national flower(India).

1981, starring Katherine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda. Magnificent panorama of lotuses (loti?), colors, lighting and shimmering reflections in this stretch capture, Marilyn! At first glance, I thought this was taken in a Japanese botanical garden. I didn't know they had such nice things south of the border.
