Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wow! I'm flattered you'd go to this trouble for my comment—yes, I thought lotuses were only found in places like India! (It's a stereotype I'm sure.) Thanks for showing me otherwise. And Marilyn, this picture's terrific! You've got real clarity in the flowers & leaves; and the blue & red outlines of the lower leaves (hugging the flowers) are just beautiful. And then the water is filled with such clean & clear undulating reflections. This is really a beautiful shot, and a real "marilyn" shot too, vivid, a collection of such beautiful things in one place, and wholly out of the ordinary...Terrific work, and thank you so much for doing the research and uploading this beautiful picture for me here. Gorgeous! Many many thanks: I can't do much better than to be associated with lotuses like this, my dear friend...

Those lotus are in here too. There are many in the pound of the hospital. San Juan. It's a very nice picture could use some philters in Photoshop to enhanced. Any way it's beautiful as it is.

Ultra stellar in all aspects of photography, and a nice dedication to our mutual friend, Mark. Exactly how I would have photographed and postworked it.

The lotus is one of my favorite flowers: quite possibly because as a kid, I saw a sculpture of King Tutankhamun's head emerging from one. Okay...these don't have disembodied human heads coming out of them (If they did, they'd probably resemble modern Czech art, and well...that would be interesting, but a wholly different photo.) Anyway, this is a great, brilliantly lit and colored photograph. I love the shades and hues of the water as well as the petals/leaves on the flower itself. Great work!

I love the reflections. Gorgeous!

The whole picture is great. I really like the reflections, though; they are so full of details. The colors are brilliant and I can feel the warm air. Really beautiful. Actually, it's excellent.

OK, now I’m jealous. So many lotus and water lilies being posted and my pond still has only buds. Almost three months with limited rain is not working for them. Awesome composition and love the reflections. Well done. Dana P
