Description

My Truth Years and years Of words not said Oceans of tears Filled my head I opened my soul Poured out my heart Filled that hole Did my part The truth was told It set me free I didn't fold I was just me I knew I was right I had to try Wings in flight Soaring high The new day brings Light and peace My heart sings Will never cease A shift in the wind A change in the soul A life not dim It's made me whole. 4/17/09

Ah, your illustration of the bird soaring fits your words perfectly. Your six verses say all that needs to be said to give me, your reader, just a sense of a journey that you, the writer, has taken past to present. As you usually do, you end on a high note. This is a poem with a healthy, optimistic outlook. You've lifted me up. Well done:)

Yes, bill really did say it all. This is triumphal in a very inward way. It's beautiful. And I'm so happy you're feeling all that. Your journey deserves the beauty & flight of this piece; and, with bill, I love the picture too, it's perfect for your words. And as always, you say it all in the shortest means, and here your stanzas are short and so to the point, it's like little gifts in each one. (And you rhymed! And it takes us along with real ease, it wholly works.) Beautiful, Marilyn, and I hope the spirit of it is with you always. A personal triumph of a poem.

This is just awesome, Marilyn. Excellent work! You've put such a long story into so few lines. Beautifully done!

This is a great, uplifting piece of writing: quietly affirmative and wonderfully succint. I love the mood you've instilled here, as well as the image you've chosen to accompany it. Fantastic work, as always.
