Description

Yesterday I posted the muted version. This is the vivid version. Has a little different mood. And shows more detail in the background. I would be interested to know which version you like best. Credits: Created in PhotoshopCS, using nest photos as reference, painting techniques, Birds of Prey by jaguarwoman, and a modified background by The_Slinger. Hope you enjoy. Mmm...hard choice Carol, but I think I prefer this new more colourful version as it seems to have a lot more 2D painting involved...but I could be wrong about that, as I only have a mouse to draw with. Well done & ~Cheers~

Hard to choose as they are both gorgeous but the eagles stand out more in the muted version and maybe are more dramatic but I do like them both.

Both of your images are beautiful. This one, however, catches my eye the most because the colors are richer. Awesome work my friend.

My, a difficult question, as said here before, it's hard to choose. They are both very beautiful. Okay, for my bedroom wall I would choose the muted version, for my living room this one (because it has more color) :-) Hugs Dueña

Difficult to decide. I think I prefer the muted version because the detail in the background of the vivid one takes away from the eagles a bit. But they are truly both lovely!

I like the blue mountains for contrast in this one but the other does show up the fine details. Excellent!

Both are gorgeous! I am thinking I like the muted version just a tetch more as it brings the eagles more to the foreground. Very beautiful! "My" bald eagles are nesting right now and it is a such a joy to see them so often. Such noble beings and always so inspiring to see! This piece is a beautiful tribute to them. Hugs! Laurie

they're both beautiful, Carol, and just so you know, I love muted as much as vivid. I'm choosing this for the simple reason that I can't catch every image I've missed in a single sitting, and so am choosing representative images (even though I saw everything while I was away; I didn't miss a thing). In the muted version, there's more of a patina of gentleness and soft light which is subtle and inviting; in this, because you've accentuated the tones, etc, we see the great detail of your vision more. And by that I mean the detail of the swirls of atmosphere & the forms coming through the atmosphere. On the right side underneath the landing eagle, you have something akin to flame, flame made from atmosphere itself and all the things behind it. There's also the exquisite lines & rivers of hue on the right side, and the undulant sheet-like layers of cloud and mountain above them. (Words strain, I know...) All this flame-like detail enhances the power of the birds, who stand on a splendid ganglia of nest-material, also a flame of sorts. Two birds surrounded by a world that is in motion with them; noble & quite expressive. Fine work.
