Description
"When a man with a rifle meets a man with a pistol, the latter is a dead man" (The Bad Guy to Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of Dollars).
Some days ago I went to the builder's yard on the site of a medieval castle turned into a prison, abandoned for some decades, and currently under renovation to become a museum. I had my Konica-Minolta with a 12X zoom, together with my faithful Panasonic.
While I was waiting for the guide, I heard a terrible commotion made of cat mews, shrieks and howls. Two feral cats darted from a heap of debris, and I shot almost blindly through the chain fence, with the 12x zoom. This is the result: a feral mum was trying to save her kitten from a big thug of tom-cat. Just a few seconds later they ran through a door and disappeared in the dark building. After a minute or less, the big tom-cat darted back, followed by a vengeful, furious cat mama, with no kitten in her mouth. I don't know whether the kitten survived the drama.

Great capture and dramatic story! The chances of that old Tom getting the time to kill the kitten with an angry Mom on his back are pretty slim! I'm sure the kitten was fine. Or at least, that's the ending I am choosing for myself :-)

But Clint Eastwood faces down the bad guy with the rifle as I recall...for what ever that is worth. Hope mama saved the little one. Excellent hip shot on your part.

Yes, I choose the ending with the mom saving her baby and running off the intruder too! Great shot, I'm always amazed how they can carry their young like that without hurting them.
