Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Nicely photographed. Guess we better use the bridge, the water looks scary! Also reminds one of Patti Page singing, "Cross over the bridge, cross over the bridge Change your reckless way of livin', cross over the bridge Leave your fickle past behind you, And true romance will find you, Brother, cross over the bridge"

One of my favourite things is Bridges, I don't know why but I am drawn to them where ever I go, yet I have very few pictures of them. I used to drive Pauline mad at times, everytime it showed a bridge on TV I used to say I've been across that. Now Emma does the same to her. Excellent capture, it looks a solid structure still. Bravo!!!!!

Now where have I heard that expression, 'bridge to nowhere' before?...lol Cool shot but that water isn't so inviting with its greenish color.

wonderful picture!

ahh, but don't you know, every bridge leads somewhere. Sometimes we need to cross it to find out where it leads... perhaps only adventure is on the other side. :-)

Very interesting image with some great reflections. Well designed!

very good mirrow capture of the bridge.

Super stellar image and reflection of the bridge over untroubled waters, Marilyn! Entranced by the texture of the water. Incidentally, this must be Bridge Day on Renderosity. MrsRatbag has posted a couple, and Sharky has one with a bridge title.

Ooh, Marilyn, this is gorgeous! I love the still water and the reflection and those suports lurking under the bridge in the semi-darkness...great work!

Your comment reminds me of "The Bridge of Lost Desire" by Samuel R. Delany, and the mood of the picture is stunning. I love the clarity, the stilness of the water, the hint of a chill in the air, according to the light. In short, this image rocks. I love it.

well I can't comment on everything I missed, but you already know how I feel about probably 2/3 of these...but I started my appearance in your 'actual' gallery with this because it struck me even the first time. I love that you got mostly water, and left the bridge almost pushing its way towards the top of the pic, crammed in while the water just relaxes and flows right to our feet. Dramatic contrast. And that strange green tint to the water is also very you, not the color, but the fact that you find the vivid & unusual & fantastic in day to day things. (That water has power in it.) And the blue on the pillars and white reflections in the water are fine touches too...Fine piece, very alive, and for a bridge that goes noplace, you managed to capture life all over the shot. Simple but very alive.
