Description
oil on canvas 30x40"
Not much for you to look at here ... other than that I cemented the drawing with oil color .... Raw umber and pure thinner / turpentine .
I painted the trees loosely trying to express the turmoil that he must have felt , at the discovery that the tomb is empty !!!!!
As I said earlier in one of my other paintings , I can idendtify with this guy .... The trees represent the inner turmoil over what he has seen and contributed to..... But Christ has another plan for his/ our life !!!! And it begins with the simple words spoken by this guy... Truly this was the son of God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this as it stands. A work in progress, an unfinished work, as we all are. I think it has a lot to say just as it is, but i'm glad you are going to finish it. And yet you will have the digital copy of it, as it is.

i'm living in the middle of a big, fast and modern city, with promising and bright shining lights. it is easy to forget about the really important things there, as there seems to be no time, no spirit, no context and no togetherness, apparently. it seems like we are loosing orientation, more and more, each day. and so, it is all the more inspirational to see your work and thoughts here, back to essential questions, back to the core, i really enjoy that a lot!

Ah, I see it a little differently, now. Cool! ")

Just coasting along this morning enjoying all that I am seeing and reading. I like the way you are telling the story featuring the same centurian. I don't think we know what happened to him after his verbal witness at the foot of the cross but we do know that there were guards at the tomb...guards who were scared to death that they would be executed for failing to keep the tomb sealed...as if they could:) I read an interesting point a week ago. The stone was rolled away from the entrance...not so Jesus could get out, but so that his followers could get in and see that He had risen as He said He would. I hope you are enjoying this project as much as we are:)

NoobasaurUS please lay back and relax. So if I do not believe literally in Zeus and the Olympic gods I am not allowed to paint anything from there? The thought is absurd. I paint anything I want without asking permission. (I had to delete my former post, the system didn't allow me to post two times)
Miska7
It looks like your off to a good start!

Excellent work Tom!!!... Don't know what Vintorix is talking about I support all artists here and elsewhere in all that they do. If you don't believe me check all my comments here...I never tell people what to say, do, think, etc.. Very bizarre!!!! Vintorix interpretation of what I was saying is exactly the opposite of what I was trying to say. I give up!!! lol I was speaking from the heart...... sorry if I offended anyone.... Peace Rob
