Description

I almost hated uploading the composite image because it degrades the quality so much when re-sizing and compression takes it's toll. But I have so many shots that I wanted to get as many here in a reasonable space of uploads. P-51, "Glamorous Gal", has a water cooled Rolls-Royce V-12 engine. What a sweet sound it made from idling on the taxi strip to screaming dives. The formation with a F-15E was very popular. It was a commemorative fly-by saluting 50 years of American war birds. Location: Seymour Johnson AFB, April 25, 2009. I lucked out in choosing a spot to view the planes early that morning. I was right up on the barricades about 100 feet off the taxi strip used by the show planes.
