Description

Although this was the second time I had seen a B-2 it still gave me goose bumps when it flew by. It is sooo big and sooo quite. They never land except at their home base in Texas; long missions require mid-air refueling. The plane can carry enough fuel for a 6000 mile flight. Notice the partially extended flaps to slow the bird down for viewing. The picture looks copy/pasted but it is not, it was a cloudless sky. I cropped and did some brightness/contrast adjustments only. Seymour Johnson AFB, April 25, 2009 Nikon D80 70-200 @ 200mm hand held shutter 1/1000 ISO 320

Excellent shot Willie! So funky to think that without computers this thing would drop out of the sky like a brick. Very cool, neat to know it was so quiet!!

Nice one! If you google video "b 2 crash" you'll see one crash on takeoff out of Guam.

I don't think it looks copy-pasted at all! I love the clarity and the slight motion blur, it's excellent...

You are right, chuter. I stand corrected. I knew Guam was home to B-52's but I was just posting what the air show announcer said. The video doesn't lie.

Wow, excellent capture with no blurring. I would love to see this flying by. We went up to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the air museum there during one of their airshows. So cool to see and touch so many different kinds of planes.

Superb fly-by capture that shows the unique stealth shape. The first time I saw a B-2 was when one flew at an airshow in Galveston. From a distant side view it looked like a flying tadpole!
