Description

Ok this type of photography is completely out of my comfort zone but you have to start somewhere, right? This is a dedication to my Mom and Dad thou they’ve been gone for several years now. It started out not as a dedication but more of a learning curve. It just sort of evolved and became that. The two bibles on the table are Mom and Dad’s. The song Amazing Grace was a favorite of theirs. I don’t know about those of you out there that have lost one or both of your parents all thou I believe it to be true; I still miss Mom and Dad and would love to be able to set down and ask their advice about things going on in my life. As a young man I was rather difficult and didn’t understand Dad’s wisdom until later in life. I thank God for the last few years with him when some of that wisdom finally sank in and I understood just what he mint, when he said things like “son I could save you allot of heart ache if you would just listen to me, but you wont so you’ll just have to learn the hard way”! I think that was very prophetic of him or maybe he just knew me that well cause I have pretty much learned everything just that way, the hard way. Mom I had several more years with and thank God for those years. Sadly Alzheimer’s took her mind; I thank God for taking her home. She was very compassionate and loving her favorite saying was kill them with kindness and she pretty much practiced that although she had her moments. One of which was the switches she would cut to impart her wisdom on my behind, LOL. What I miss about her the most is her hugs they just seemed to have made everything better. I should say I never got a spanking I didn’t deserve and I deserved many more than I got. A special thanks to Cavalier Lady for her inspiration here on renderosity and advice on how to do this type of photography via her web sight, thank you Maria!!!

I lost my father when I was a lad of 12 years old, my mother when I was 35, I still miss them both to this day, and theres not a day goes by when I don't think of them at least once. I am now 61 years old, you never forget your parents, you will miss them till the day you die, but now a days its the good times I remember, and funny things that they did. Excellent work and a beautiful dedication to your Mum & Dad. Bravo!!!!! PS it's one of my favourites as well.

I think we all at some point never understood what our parents were trying to teach us ,but as we reach parenthood ourselfs it more or less falls into place and helps us become teachers ourselfs .Being a Dad and a Grandad life goes full circle :o).. Mick

What a very moving intro, it really had a profound effect on me. I lost my Dad to cancer some years ago, and I miss him still so very much. My mother has Dementia, and although God has been kind to her whereas she hasn't ailed any ill health, I wish that he could take her soon before she loses her dignity totally. Your parents would have been so proud of you for this beautiful tribute to them, so excellently shot and presented. hugs Jane xx
