Description
Captured back in June 2006 (a month after I switched over to the photo section of Renderosity), very early in the morning, about 2 miles/3.22 kilometers from my anachronistic abode.
I know Marilyn loves lawn statuary, so when she posted her two cherubic angel uploads yesterday it reminded me of this angel -- at least I assume it's an angel with the wings and all -- the fotos of which have been vegetating in my voluminous files all this time. I suppose I was just waiting for the right opportunity to present them. The statuary was photographed not for its spiritual value or implication, but for the elegant sculpturing and stark light/shadow effects so apparent at that time of day.
I've digifiddled with the pics off and on, such as playing around with regular black and white and deep black and white, but feel these color originals look the best.
And, if this represents something other than an angel, let me know.
Thankx for stopping by, and have a supercilious Sunday.

Harry, thank you so very much. Angels come in many ways, and this just proves it; it means more than I can say.

Hard to capture white on full sun. You did not blow out a white color. Great job Harry and I see she is thrilled to get a present from you.

Beautiful images, with all the white and shadow detail wonderfully intact. Fantastic photos, and a beautiful dedi for Marilyn.

yes harry, they don't have to be anything other than what they are: Beautiful sculptures with all kinds of light & shadow and furrows, etc: That's angel enough. (You may know that "angel" meant "messenger," so if it brings light to someone, it's an angel.) A wonderful dedi to our dear friend, who deserves it, and I know she posted a poem called "angels" too. The light & shadow & angles, etc etc all bring out a lot of music in these. Another collection of complex beauty from you, which, all the same, has a directness that speaks to our eyes & hearts. I really like this piece, and it's so nice that you posted them for Marilyn.
