This is Captain Kirk Douglas from the Philadelphia Hip Hop/Soul/Funk band called "The Roots". Kirk here is getting down with his trusty Gibson, which happens to be why I took this photo last weekend at the Beale Street Music Festival here in Memphis, Tennessee. I was lucky enough to get a return engagement shooting bands for Gibson Guitars like I did last year, and The Roots were on their list. I can see why. They are a funkin powerhouse that cranks out a wall of sound mixing in all the above mentioned genres. However, as far as the weather was concerned, it sucked. Pouring down rain for two days out of the three. Not great for an outdoor festival, to say the least, but we did our best. However, shooting in the pouring rain can be quite a challenge. marshall
