Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ooh, I love old wooden screen doors too, they're so much nicer than aluminum ones! Great capture.

I too am a lover of the old wooded screen doors...I used to love to hear the one on my Grandmother's home creek as it opened and closed.

I don't know, I kinda like aluminum screen doors, especially when they're a dark color and all gussied up with scrolled gratings and such. In any event, the wooden varieties do elicit much ambiance, charm and a yearning for the good old days.

I always like the idea of bamboo for decoration. It is something special. Nice capture. Aloha

Great shot here. I have a thing for doors, thresholds, and stuff like that, so this is right up my alley. Great sense of buttery golden color, though actually, on second glance, it's more like buffed honey. Hmmm...is there such a thing as buffed honey? Probably, as it sounds kinda like a car color. Anyway, color names aside, this is a great shot. I love the hints of details you can see through the window screens, as well as the not-exactly-face-on angle you've chosen, it has the "feeling" of walking up to that door and getting whiffs of the surrounding vegetation. Pictures evoke so much, as this one demonstrates, and that's always, always, always a good thing.
