Description

Part of the movie Public Enemies, the new Johnny Depp movie coming out July 1st, was filmed last year April in front of our house. Our corner is where the shoot out scene between John Dillinger and the Racine Police Department was shot. Our house is in the movie. After they let us back outside, Because they were holding us hostage in our own home. I snuck my camera out. They don't call me ninja photographer for nothing. These are the cars they used in that scene. The fence along the side of the shot is our fence for our yard. Oh ya I forgot, the guy in the long black jacket is coming over to tell me not to take pictures. They have no idea I did before that.....like I said nionja photographer.

Held hostage is pretty accurate!! Our mail and paper were not delivered, because it might interfere with the filming, in addition, our phone line was dropped because it was inappropriate for the time period. Aside from the mail, because we were notified by the Post office that this would happen, all of the rest was a surprise. The city benefitted greatly from the filming, and we personally did manage to get a weeks credit on our phone bill for the lack of a week of service. It was exciting to have all of this going on right in front of our house, on the other hand, there was an incredible lack of planning and information as to how we would be affected by it. Sneaky but cool pic sweetie.

Some of the greatest things that happen in life are things we go through hell getting to the end of...its kinda cool this was in front of your home but wow the inconvenience you had to endure for it...I have to agree with elfin12u...they were not very informative for the folks waiting for the crew to LEAVE! lol Did they even survey you and your neighbors to see if you all minded or not...I am guessing no, since he says you were misinformed...that to me makes it not worth it I guess. Glad you got your lives back! ;-)

A great example of how reality and make believe merge. I love to play dress up and see peoples reactions. Its also odd how I feel different just because of what I am wearing. I suppose that is what actors discover early and how they are compelled to make a lifetime on often erratic episodes of employment. Once you conquer being self consciuos and just do it, the results are a way of opening up possible new ways of thinking. I do envy the females with greter choice so i am exploring that as well.

Fantastic image...and a great capture of something that few often see. I love the time-warp quality of this image. Superb color and crispness, especially since it appears that a few ninja tricks might have been necessary. Great stuff.

being on your own property, they can hardly prevent you from taking pictures.ha!I would have been on my roof shooting unless they were paying a lot of money. often movies are shot in one area of Dallas.one morning I stopped to take pictures of the trailers and canteen vehicles.any way some security guards was giving me the evil eye and pretended to approach my vantage point, but they never crossed the street.if they had I was going to laugh in their face since I was on a public street sneak factor very high on this shot
