Description

You know how people tell you to get lost? Well I suggest you do so. Wandering aimlessly once in while is not always a bad thing. You have no idea what you are missing if you don't do it. Last night we wandered aimlessly. We also took some advice and got lost. This is one of the great things that just happens. We take them for granted so often, we forget how breath taking they can be. I give dusk at lake Butt Des Morts and remember this quote: "Not all who wander are lost" J.R.R. Tolkien

And I wasn't lost!!!!!! I've not known where exactly I was for a moment or two....but never lost. I love the quote, and really didn't expect to get a shot worth while. I promised her a sunset over the lake, and became increasingly frustrated that every place I knew of to get said shot, was no longer available. I just kept moving on to the next, only to find that all that I knew 30 years ago was changed and so much different.....I guess kinda like us. Nothing stays the same forever, in fact....as stupid as this sounds, the only thing that will ever be constant in our lives is change ( kind of an oxymoron ). The night wasn't a total loss, as I had the opportunity to re-discover, that which was totally new to her. Cheri took about 65 pictures last night, hopefully some will be deemed presentable, but this was the last one. We'd reached another dead end, but even as in life, when everything seemed to be going wrong, she managed to find something beautiful in it!

Those who wander are not necessarily lost... Discoveries are what I live for, which probably explains the strange paths my life takes at times. fantastic, moody shot here. I love the silhouette and the intense, fiery orange. Great drama. Fantastic in every way, really. This is top-quality work.

This is a great shot that reminds me a little bit of some of the lakes near the highways in Minnesota. I love the color of the clouds and the way the sky seems so open and expansive. Great silhouettes too.
